Once I received the download links and installed, the install effectively wiped out my Office Pro Plus suite install and just installed Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook along with Visio and Project.all at 2016 levels.

I could not do this with my Office 365 account. Ultimately, I had to register using a public Microsoft account (e.g., MSN, ) and then link the 2016 versions of Project and Visio to my public account. After being bounced throughout Microsoft to several less than helpful resources, I was finally able to work with someone to install both Project and Visio 2013 (over several separate sessions). The so called free upgrade cost me 8 hours of billable time and therefore this was not technically free at all, particularly those in business who have Office 365 (and Office Pro Plus versions) as well as retail purchased versions of Project and Visio 2013. Took me about 10 minutes of chatting (and waiting) with a MS rep and I had a free Visio Standard 2016 license in my possession to replace the 2013 version that won't work with the new Office suite.
